Rural Depot Review

The amount of recyclables collected at rural depots is significantly lower than recyclables collected at curbside. In an effort to boost recycling collection at rural depots, Quinte Waste Solutions decided to do a review of the rural depots in the Quinte region. The Rural Depot Review project was funded by Quinte Waste Solutions and Stewardship Ontario.

The project included the following phases:

Phase 1: Province-wide research on best practices at rural depots.

Phase 2: Assessment of Quinte's existing rural depot system; pilot tested 4 of the Best Practices identified in the Phase 1 Report.

Phase 3: A summary of findings was prepared; sharing of results.
